Organizations
Organizations can play an influential role in building support for marriage equality and LGBT acceptance in the API community. Here are some ways:
> Feature an API same-sex couple in your organizational newsletter or website. API Equality would be happy to connect you with several couples for your organization to profile.
> Invite an API same-sex couple to talk about marriage equality at your group's event. Again, API Equality would be glad to help!
> Persuade your staff and board to formally endorse marriage equality and make sure to inform API Equality about your success. Hand out brochures from API Equality to educate them on the issues.
> Identify marriage equality as an issue priority for your organization. LGBT members in the API community need your help in advocating for their equality.
> Oppose any legislative efforts, including ballot initiatives, to ban marriage equality and other LGBT partnership rights. Become an active coalition partner in campaigns to defeat such efforts.
